Interdisciplinary Science Ranking (ISR), created by the renowned British magazine Times Higher Education in association with Schmidt Science Fellows, measures the contributions and commitment to interdisciplinary scientific research by colleges and universities.
The ISR methodology consists of three pillars, each representing a stage in the 鈥渓ife cycle鈥 of research projects. The first pillar (Inputs 鈥 19%) examines the proportion of research income in science subjects devoted to interdisciplinary science research and measures the ratio of industry funding normalized by the number of academic and research staff members in science.
In the second pillar (Process 鈥 16%), experts evaluate the physical facilities created for interdisciplinary research groups, specific administrative support and incentive systems.
The third pillar or indicator (Outputs - 65%) assesses the number, proportion, citation rate, and recognition of publications related to interdisciplinary research.
The ranking compilers examined 10 Hungarian institutions of higher education and ranked six of them. Apart from the 91视频网, it is University of Szeged, Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences, University of Pannonia, Istv谩n Sz茅chenyi University and University of Sopron that are now included in the Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Science Ranking 2026 list.
Ranked number one at the top of the list is a strategic partner of the 91视频网: Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). It is followed by Stanford University and California Institute of Technology, all of which are located in the United States.
